Ellis is being framed.
If SMASH goes ahead and makes Ellis the culprit for poisoning Rebecca I will lose all respect for these lame brained writers-because number one rule when you plot a who-dunnit?
HIDE THE GUILTY PERSON IN PLAIN SIGHT!
That would not be Ellis.
That would be....Ivy, Randall, and Rebecca herself.
She doesn't "care" who poisoned her. Um a star would not say that it would be, "I'll have heads for this!----I'll sue!" But nope, she just wants "out".
Well, Randall was seen in the first frame smelling the smoothie then handing it to her backstage. Um why would he smell it? If he is extra careful before he hands it to her, then how would this happen?
"I know I drank it anyway". Well you don't do that unless you yourself, know what the consequences would be, right?
But its Randall who contacts Eileen privately and says, "this was deliberate...she is always very careful she would never have let this happen".
Au contraire mon ami!
Randall HATES Ellis and knows he does make the smoothies----so um perhaps Randall did this to get back at Ellis?
Because for Ellis to do this, too obvious.
For Rebecca or Randall to do this-ingenious.
For Ivy to do it-----because Derek was sleeping with the star? and she wants the part?
Definitely a shocker but to me not executed enough not even Ivy, staring at the floor once Karen said Rebecca said it was deliberate.
Refuse to believe that Ivy would be that desperate. Sleeping with Dev was enough---I am hoping though she saves the speech for derek this whole thing is his fault for sleeping with the star because that, would be stellar!
So c'mon writers...don't make me start a blog...

My prediction for SMASH season finale.
1) Ellis "owns" the show and double crosses everyone when they learn Bombshell is now in his hands to do what he wants---including Jerry, Eileen's ex.
2.) Derek chooses Karen to play Marilyn but Ellis overrides that with his wanting "Ivy" for the part-thus firing Karen-but Ellis warns an elated Ivy, she has to do something for him now that he's done everything for her....will she deceive Tom?
3) Karen is disgusted when she learns Ivy slept with Dev (me thinks he leaves his oxford class ring and Mr. Cambridge figures it out on his own) and runs to Derek because she has no job and no where to go and nothing to lose---Derek is conflicted when Karen feels the need to get back at Ivy by seducing him.
My biggest wish?
Karen agrees to move in with Derek until she gets a place of her own--their bond grows as does the sexual tension especially when he gets her hired in My Fair lady leaving him "grown accustomed to her face" and plots to get her back on Bombshell while Tom and Julia take Ellis to court---for stealing their idea.

Oh Bloody Hell!
I do love that man. No seriously, I feel jack Davenport's Q rating is only going to continue to rise.
For example:
"Could you at least try to be open?" (Tom asks a disgruntled and very focused Derek who doesn't give an ish)
"Why?" (as if, he doesn't give a !@#$ what anyone wants right now he just wants to get the show off the ground. He knows Rebecca is not stable; they need Michael Swift and that's his only focus)
"Refocus on the vl6....finally the hotspot. What would I do without you?" (He says to Ivy who thinks, oooh he wuvs and appreciates me. NOT All Derek cares about is....THE SHOW)
His pep talk to Rebecca is to keep his "star" from falling "like a house of cards". By encouraging her he keeps her in control therefore Derek IS IN control.
Meanwhile..."Its so weird. Dev is the love of my life and seriously, I don't want to see him right now."
Nope, Derek is in that mode too which is why his shagging with Rebecca is not unpredictable--necessary to move plot? Not in my opinion. Ellis easily could have fed Ivy's insecurities to lead to the explosive events.
Meanwhile our sexy director is "losing control"...cant have that.
"Yeah I'm waiting Don anytime before the season's change!"
(Karen curious)
"What are you doing?" (To Bobby)
"Waiting to see Derek have a stroke." (Ha! Best line eva! And he so is ready to and its fun to watch!)
"Oh my God Don are you joking?!!!"
(And Bobby is cracking up while karen watches this exchange was good!)
"Excuse me Derek but can we have a word?"
"How about No! That's a word!" (ROTFLMAO!!!!! I love that man!)
"Rebecca likes the gloves."
"Really?"
"She loves them!"
"Let's try having a straight blackout please? NOW!"
So as I was watching, this dialogue is very significant for Derek's character, because everything and I mean everything he does in this episode? is all about TECH nothing more. He doesn't want to get personal with anyone...not even Rebecca-he wants her to think and be like Marilyn so he can control her on stage. Way too obvious.
Here's more juicy tidbits.
"You tell her Michael will be here when she arrives whether she likes it or not!"
"right sure!"
"I'll HANDLE REBECCA YOU HANDLE JULIA"!
"Okay stop!"
"It's not terrible."
"Okay do not tell me its not terrible its absolutely dreadful!" (Tom and Derek are rebuilding their friendship....that's cool to see.: )
"Wait we're taking her gloves offf for her?"
"You heard me...do it!"
Make the star HAPP HAPP HAPPY and the show will go on!
Poor Derek.

Defending My Director
What is Derek doing with the lousy "Marilyn wannabe"? I mean, how could he do such a thing to Ivy? And of course how could he encourage Rebecca to flaunt her star power and relish in the terror?
HA! I LOVE THIS MAN SO FREAKING MUCH!
What did Derek ask Rebecca?
"What are you up to?"
"Get rid of Karen".
Okay we all know Derek ain't gonna do that don't we? He just told Karen, "I think you would make a brilliant Marilyn...I see it you know, in my head....Okay just...stay on top of the material."
So to me, this has everything to do with Karen. See, with Derek occupying Rebecca, she can't keep Karen out all wee hours nor can she sabotage her when Derek is babying the star...especially if he is willing to go the extra mile-which he is----to prevent his show from being destroyed. No way is he NOT going to think of Karen singing "Happy Birthday" to him in his white shirt in his living room and straddling him the way she did-NO WAY. So all Rebecca has done is Keep Karen firmly planted on Derek's brain....
Its truly remarkable what he is willing to do to get her fired from the musical just so Karen can be Marilyn.
"Relish in your star power....to escape the terror"....
ha.....So let her feed him cake; let him kiss her; let Ivy become sooooo insecure that she does what "she does".....While Dev himself feels insecure after he breaks up with Karen.
Ah yes. I so see how this is blossoming-
Derek keep doing what your doing hon...by the time he learns Karen is single...
It won't be Linda helping Karen with the routines...

Has anyone figured out what will happen in the...
First off, this is my first post. I love this show because NBC has needed night time drama in a "soapy" way-and this fits the bill. Fantasies. Passion. Unrequited Love....forbidden love. An evil character...or two. Music. and finally a love story.
Without Jack Davenport, Smash would be a shadow of itself and It amazes me what this man brings to a show within the first two minutes---and beyond. I'm convinced. It's his voice; so powerful, mesmerizing you simply cannot take your eyes off what he does. We love it when Derek loses his temper; tries to control it then doesn't give a flying fig whom he pisses off, he just will and we love it. When Derek is in "tech mode" he's all about business and getting this musical to Boston yet, he finds two minutes before rehearsal to speak with Karen privately about, "the show" to ask her if she is "okay" much like last week's first two minutes which effectively shaped Derek's devotion. Let's face it: Derek is smitten. Notice he's no longer barking at Karen? Nope. He's muchh more gentle, and intimate; he simply took Ivy's advice in "Understudy" and ran with it. "You should go easy on her", Ivy coyly said hoping she could get ack into the production. She has her agenda and so does Derek and neither benefits the other. He's waiting in the wings for Karen to trust him more by repairing the damage he created in the pilot when he summoned her to his apartment. So many ask, does this turn Derek into a weak character?
In my opinion, no. Derek is now a more rounded, complex, and passionate character when pushed to the wall, will explode with fervor no matter what the situation is. Thanks to Jack's ability to play nuance that is effortless, women across the world are swooning over the ballsy, prick-ish director who's completely captivated by a beautiful, talented, understudy. Simply put, its delicious.
So let's get into Derek's head. He sees Karen as Marilyn. To him she is "the one"....yet, he can barely keep his words or tone straight and is absolutely terrified that anybody in that room will see what we the audience sees. Has Karen caught on that the only person besides Julia who's fighting for her to get this part is none other than Ivy's lover? Not till the season finale, and with Ellis now fully in tune with how Derek sees Karen as "his muse" he's going to use it to his advantage to get the one thing he's wanted since the pilot:
CREDIT that BOMBSHELL IS HIS IDEA not Tom and Julia's and will go as far as to blackmail, torture an actress; and leak some possible sex scandals so he can be the one in charge. And this is why audience is supposed to HATE HIM.
